The Midland Wado Association (W.M.A) was formed in 2006 by four senior instructors to bring together five local clubs who have been teaching Wado Ryu Karate in Leicester since the early nineties.
All our clubs are run independently but all teach traditional Wado Ryu Karate to the association’s standards and grading syllabus. We all have one simple aim to teach high quality traditional karate to anybody that has a genuine interest in developing themselves both mentally and physically. Our clubs create a great training atmosphere that is disciplined whilst still being family friendly and suitable for all ages and abilities.
The association currently still has five affiliated clubs at different venues across Leicester,
Click Clubs link above for details.
All our senior instructors hold current BDS enhanced certificates, have sport first aid training, full insurance and acknowledge all current child protection and welfare policy's.
Our clubs are open to all students, from the age of 6 years onwards, regardless of gender, ethnic origin, physical ability or social background, and parents are always welcome to stay and watch (or even join in if they want to!!)
One advantage of our association is it has enabled the clubs to keep running costs and club fees low while maintaining a high common standard across all the clubs. All our clubs run on a pay as you train basis. (No monthly fees)
All members have grading record books & licences (including member to member insurance).
As a member of the association you are welcome to train at any of the clubs in addition to your normal training sessions.
